π The Filter
Before Phase 1 of the Clarity Engine begins, all incoming information is passed through a two-stage filter:
- Relevance to the individual
- Emotional manipulation detection
This ensures that only signal-worthy input proceeds into deeper diagnostic layers.
π Relevance Filters
We begin by testing whether the content is practically meaningful to the reader. Four primary filters are used:
- Location β Is the story directly relevant to your physical region or community?
- Actionability β Can you take a specific action based on this information?
- Statistical Reality β Is this part of a real trend, or an isolated anomaly?
- Time Senseitivity β Does this require immediate action or near-term attention?
- Revenue Purity
- Prepaid: Sponsored by brands or political interests
- Postpaid: Emotionally baited content designed to increase ad revenue via time-on-page
π The 7 Deadly Sins Filter
The second filter evaluates emotional vulnerability. Based on ancient insight into the mindβs fault lines, we score content on whether it provokes:
- Greed
- Lust
- Wrath
- Envy
- Pride
- Sloth
- Gluttony
Each can be scored from 1 (low) to 100 (extreme). The higher the emotional exploitation, the more likely the article is a manipulation artifact.
β οΈ The 7 Deadly Sins β Media Distortion Map
Sin | Shadow Emotion | Media Tactic |
---|---|---|
Greed | Scarcity, hoarding | FOMO headlines, wealth hacks |
Lust | Objectification, fantasy | Over-sexualized thumbnails, filters |
Wrath | Outrage, blame loops | Polarizing politics, cancel drama |
Envy | Comparison, inadequacy | Influencer envy, status metrics |
Pride | Ego inflation or fragility | Hustle culture, moral superiority |
Sloth | Apathy, escapism | Doomscrolling, passive consumption |
Gluttony | Overindulgence, excess | Endless autoplay, junk content binge |
π§Ή Examples of Filter Failures (Should Be Discarded)
- OnlyFans Trend Articles
High in Lust + Envy. Statistically irrelevant. No action path. Pure bait. - Daily Political News
High in Wrath. Non-actionable. Designed to induce rage and helplessness. - Celebrity Coverage
Envy, Lust, and Manufactured Outrage. Attention extraction disguised as news. - Beauty Product "Tips"
High in Envy. Often sponsored content, masquerading as advice.
β Examples of Filter Passes (Should Be Kept)
- Weather Warnings β Actionable, local, time senseitive, safety-enhancing
- How-To Articles β Improve life through skill acquisition
- Local Statistical Reports β Enable protective or financial planning
π Summary
This two-part filter is the entry gate to the Clarity Engine. It blocks emotionally manipulative, irrelevant, or ad-driven content β allowing only useful, reality-based, and empowering information to pass through.
The goal is not censorship. It's mental environmental hygiene.
